Fruit Agar

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages of agar-agar powder (0.88 oz or 250 gram),
  • water (7 cups if fruit agar, 8 cups if coconut milk)
  • granulated white sugar
  • 2 13-oz cans coconut milk
  • lychee juice
  • fruits:
    strawberry
    peach
    nectarine
    kiwi
    cherry
    grapes
    and/or any fruit you like

How to make fruit agar?

Coconut milk agar:

  1. pot + 5 cups water + 2 cans coconut milk = boil + 1 cup sugar = boil
  2. a small bowl = warm water + 1 package agar = mix well
  3. add (2) into (1) = boil
  4. turn off the heat.
  5. let it cools for 15 minutes.

Fruit agar:

  1. pot + 5 cups water = boil + lychee juice (around 1.5 cup) = boil + 1 cup sugar = boil
  2. a small bowl = warm water + 1 package agar = mix well
  3. add (2) into (1) = boil
  4. turn of the heat.
  5. let it cools for 15 minutes.

Decorate the agar pudding:

  • Fruit agar
    Arrange 1 layer fruit in the tray.
    Add a thin agar layer.
    Let it’s cooled.
    Repeat these steps.
  • Coconut milk agar
    Pour the mixed coconut agar to a tray.
  • Coffee agar
    Pour the rest of fruit liquid agar to a tray.
    Allow it cool.
    Add the rest of coconut liquid agar.

3 trays of agar 

  • Done.
  • Let them cool by placing them in the fridge.

Notes:

  • The less water, agar is harder /the more water, agar is softer.
  • If doing fruit agar, don’t need adding coconut milk
  • 1 coconut milk = 13 oz, so 2 cans = 26 oz around 3 cups
  • 1 chen = 1 cup
  • when making fruit agar, we use less water because there is a plenty of water in fruit can…
